Meet the Author: H.K. Boughazian

H.K. Boughazian, known as Kane, is the author and founder of Great Diamond Press. He writes hardcover picture books and adventure chapter books for kids ages 4 to 9, including the award-winning Hidden Gems series.

From Animation to Author

Before writing children's books, Kane spent over 20 years working as a computer animator. That background shows up in his writing — his books are built around vivid, visual worlds, like the world of sentient rocks and minerals in the Hidden Gems series.

Why He Writes

Kane started writing children's books because of his own kids. He lives in California with his wife and two children, who inspired him to start telling stories for young readers. He believes uplifting stories can give kids the hope and strength they need to face life's challenges, and that's the idea behind every book he's written: that our differences are worth celebrating, and that hard things can make us stronger.
